    Use a soft-bristle brush to more easily brush around the brackets and wires of your braces. Change your brush about every three months or when the bristles show signs of wear. Brush after meals and at bedtime for the best results.

    The fluoride in the toothpaste helps to rebuild enamel, which in turn will keep your teeth strong. Make sure you choose a toothpaste in a flavor and texture you enjoy so that you are more willing to use it. Also be sure to brush the appropriate length of time, which is about two minutes at a time. In order to further protect your teeth, use fluoride mouthwash to rinse.

Flossing can be more difficult when you have braces around which to maneuver, but it is even more important when you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. Use floss threaders or orthodontic flossing tools to get the job done properly. You need to floss about once a day for the best results.
